In the Works Dance Studio

The local Horsefly Dance Studio, specializing in Ballet and Jazz, was formed six years ago by Corinne Stromsten. Corinne has danced since the age of seven, and is trained in R.A.D & Cecchetti Ballet.

Andrew Allen

With award winning songs, international tours and top 10 Canadian chart action; Andrew Allen, with his infectious smile and witty charm, is a true live musician that guides his listeners through a musical journey. Creating more than just a show, Andrew embraces and revels in the experience. From his fun loving 2009 Top 10 single ‘I Wanna Be Your Christmas’ and his quirky Top 40 single 'Not Loving You', to his soulful ballads like 'Amazing' - which he performed in Whistler BC at the 2010 Closing Ceremonies of the Paralympic Winter Games - Andrew somehow knows just how to conduct a show that has you laughing, dancing and most importantly... remembering.

Joanna Chapman-Smith

Joanna Chapman-Smith is a powerful young woman who has been making waves on the folk scene since 2002. Alone on stage, sitting atop a percussion rig made out of a suitcase and outnumbered by instruments, she charms unassuming crowds into singing along and letting themselves be carried away into her world that questions right and wrong, mind and body, permanence and impermanence.
At 25 years old she has already been many times across the country, over to the US, Europe and New Zealand as well. Joanna has released two solo records to date - the most recent of which, "Contraries", was awarded an IMA Award in the "Best Acoustic Song" category. She is currently working - with the support of the Canada Council - on a solo show she will tour in the fall of 2010.

Colorifics

Executed with poise, class, professionalism and a lot of sass, the music of the Colorifics is a welcome refreshment for the musical soul. Their live shows energize crowds with a constant stream of color; mixing different genres and rhythms into a tapestry of sweet melodies and rich harmonies.

Maria in the Shower

A folk cabaret within a 4-piece band. Hailing from deep inside the creative beating heart of East Vancouver.
Intoxicated with passion, able to move gracefully through moods, or instigate fits of infectious dancing. Each show a complete performance in the vaudeville tradition.
Maria in the Shower is a place where all music comes to play. Standing apart from mainstream pop, and looking ahead to where it all began, the boys of Maria deliver true folk songs, rooted in the rich soil and realized through hard work, joy and love of storytelling.
Skilled performers. Always fun. Always captivating. Always connected with the audience.
If Tim Burton could have his way with "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" you would taste something like the fabulous delights of Maria in the Shower.

Mamaguroove

Lyrically, their songs express a strong connection to working, raising families, and addressing social and political issues that are found both in their own backyard and the world abroad. Musically, their songs are as diverse as their influences of Funk, Reggae, Ska, World Beat, Acapella, Folk, and most importantly - Rock n' Roll. Although individual members contribute song ideas and lyrics to the group, Mamaguroove takes great pride in arranging their tunes together as a band.
